Everything Is Coming Up Hoosiers: Coach Cignetti Wins Big 10 Coach Of The Year And Indiana Is Still In The College Football Playoff

Indiana still hanging on strong to the top 12, and with the teams knocking on the door behind them having multiple loses, it looks like the Hoosiers have some breathing room. One more week of these stupid projections. One more week of me yelling, Football School. One more week of listening to Joey Galloway spew hot air. BUT, the final bracket will set the matchups, and actually mean something.

After Indiana lost to Ohio State in about the worst possible fashion, I was a little worried about falling off the College Football Playoff bracket, despite what the numbers said. Thanks to a slew of factors - Michigan spanking Ohio State, Indiana violently skull fucking Purdue, and college football as a whole kind of sucking, the Hoosiers have carved out a spot in the post season.  Sure, the road goes through Georgia, Texas, Alabama / Notre Dame, but worrying about that would make me daunted, and that I am not. We've got the Big 10 Coach of the Year leading the Hoosiers into battle. I don't care what the schedule was, Cig deserves national coach of the year for fixing Indiana football.

Obviously I don't want Indiana to be complacent with simply making the playoff, but every fan should take a second and realize how incredible this season has been. The Ohio State game sucked, and SEC fans screeching that the Hoosiers don't belong as tainted to mood the last few weeks, but focus on the positives. Indiana football has been an incompetent laughing stock for years, even when the program had talent and a little success in recent years, they've found a way to fumble it away. The Hoosiers found a coach with experience beyond high school ball, more $ going into the program, and more talented recruits on the way. That size and talent in the trenches is what separates the Hoosiers from the top programs, but the talent gap is narrowing. Looking at the bracket, I doubt Georgia will be Indiana's final matchup, but Georgia is by no means a juggernaut. They remind me of Ohio State in terms of size on the lines, which isn't a great thing for the Hoosiers to go on the road and play against (68 passing yards vs OSU), but correct a few special team mistakes, get the entire offensive line on HGH, and maybe we can lose by single digits? It's a tall task, but I do believe the Hoosiers can win a game in the playoffs.

Now, If you'll excuse me, I have to go watch an Indiana basketball team that I have absolutely ZERO faith in.

Get your Cignetti "I win. Google Me." in time for the playoffs, AND you might still be able to get 20% off because whoever is in charge of the sight probably hasn't turned the sale off yet.
